Experience the Future of European Research: The EXPER Project Workshops

The ULPGC (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), in its leadership role within the European project EXPER (Excellent Peripheries for a Strong European Research Area), is delighted to extend an invitation to you to participate in the upcoming Workshops (WS) on Best Practices from the EXPER leading Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). These enlightening sessions will be conducted by our two HEIs, the University of Rostock (UROS)  and the University of Calabria (UNICAL), in the coming days. With the invaluable support of these top-tier European institutions, the primary objective is to address and enhance the weaknesses identified within the ultra peripheral universities that are part of the EXPER Project: ULPGC and the University of the Azores (UAC). To achieve this goal effectively, it is imperative to engage not only with university community members but also with stakeholders from our immediate ecosystem. This collaborative approach will pave the way for integrated solutions to rectify the identified weaknesses within our university.

The scheduled workshops will take place on September 25th, 26th, and 27th, 2023.

Each of these workshops will focus on one of the key pillars of the project and is detailed below:

WS on September 25, 2023 – Enhancing Talent Attraction and Retention at Our University

WP3 – Strengthening Researchers’ Career Attractiveness, Including Improvement in Career Assessment and Researchers’ Conditions, and Fostering Gender Equality and Diversity.

WS on September 26, 2023 – Excellent and Responsible Research

WP4 – Excellent and Responsible Research, Encompassing Sharing Capacity and Resources Through Collaborative Settings, Including Transversal Skills, Entrepreneurial Skills, Open Science Skills, and Tools; Networking Activities to Develop Multidisciplinary Research Projects and Identify New Strands.

WS on September 27, 2023 – Cooperation with Local Stakeholders in Knowledge and Technology Transfer

WP5 – Cooperation with Surrounding Ecosystem Actors, Both from the Business Sector and Civil Society, Through the Creation or Reinforcement of Technology Transfer and Spin-offs Offices, and Fostering Cooperation with Citizens.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the transformation of ultra peripheral universities. We look forward to your participation in shaping the future of European research.
