The EXPER project consortium is pleased to announce the successful completion of its series of online seminars focused on “Bridging excellence among peripheral regions.” The seminars, held between December 2024 and January 2025, saw active participation from researchers, SMEs, and stakeholders, fostering valuable discussions and identifying potential avenues for future collaboration.
Each participating university delved into their primary research strands and projects aligned with the EXPER Societal Challenges Working Groups: Adaptation to Climate Change in the Blue and/or Circular Economy (SCWG 1) and Restoring Our Oceans and Waters in the Blue and/or Circular Economy (SCWG 2).
The seminar series kicked off on Wednesday, December 4th, with the University of Azores (UAC) showcasing their research initiatives. This was followed by the University of Rostock (UROS) on Thursday, December 12th, who presented their contributions to the identified societal challenges. The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) hosted a well-attended seminar on Thursday, January 9th, highlighting their relevant research and projects. The final seminar in the series was successfully held by the University of Calabria (UNICAL) on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025.
The objectives of the seminar series – to showcase ongoing research, identify potential new research projects, and facilitate collaborative research projects under Horizon Europe calls. Participants engaged in fruitful discussions along with policy makers, exploring synergies and identifying concrete research areas for potential joint proposals.
The EXPER project consortium expresses its gratitude to all participating researchers, SMEs, and stakeholders for their active involvement and valuable contributions to the success of these online seminars. The networking opportunities fostered during these events are expected to strengthen collaborative efforts and lead to impactful EU funding proposals addressing pressing environmental challenges.
While the online seminar series has concluded, the EXPER project remains committed to supporting the development of collaborative research projects aligned with the identified research areas. Interested parties are encouraged to continue engaging with the EXPER consortium to explore potential partnerships and funding opportunities under Horizon Europe.
