EXPER Project Facilitates Staff Exchange to Enhance Knowledge Transfer, Talent Attraction, and Research Excellence

As part of the EXPER project, the first Staff Exchange programme will take place between July 3rd and 6th, 2023, fostering collaboration among the Widening Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), the University of the Azores (UAc) and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), along with the leading University of Rostock (UROS). This initiative aims to improve areas of opportunity within the Widening HEIs, focusing on the three pillars of the EXPER project: knowledge transfer, talent attraction, and research excellence. Diverse and varied personnel from both universities will participate in the programme.

UROS has shared a selection of its “best practices,” showcasing operational activities and units within their university. This allows UAc and ULPGC personnel to choose the practices that best align with their needs for work improvement and learning. Based on this information, UROS has prepared an agenda of activities to cover the selected programmes during the event. This will provide both Widening universities’ personnel with insights into specific fields and how they are approached at UROS.

The objective of the Staff Exchange activities is for ULPGC and UAc to receive training, education, and learning from the successful practices and activities carried out at both UROS and UNICAL. The goal is to learn from these models and attempt to implement them at UAc and ULPGC. These activities serve as a valuable platform for professional growth and international cooperation under the EXPER project.

The next steps

The next Staff Exchange programme is scheduled to take place with the University of Calabria (UNICAL) in September of this year. Through fostering collaboration and sharing expertise, the EXPER project aims to strengthen the Widening HEIs and promote continuous improvement in knowledge transfer, talent attraction, and research excellence.
