The University of the Azores Shapes a Future Course with the EXPER Project

Yesterday marked a significant step in the ongoing efforts of the University of the Azores (UAc) as it conducted its 2nd Workshop, aimed at shaping its individual strategy within the framework of the EXPER project. The initiative is part of a broader plan to feed into the action plans of the project and establish a Joint Strategy in collaboration with the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC).

The workshop, attended by key representatives from various sectors, centred on the validation of outputs derived from the 1st UAc workshop held on December 6, 2023. Dr. Artur Gil and Emanuel Mendonça from UAc played pivotal roles in facilitating discussions and experiences among participants. The focus was on validating the proposed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in alignment with the objectives outlined during the initial workshop.

The EXPER project, officially titled ‘Excellent Peripheries for a Strong European Research Area,’ is a Coordination and Support Action funded by Horizon Europe. Its primary purpose is to reform the institutional structures of UAc and ULPGC. Both institutions want to increase capability and engage in international cooperation, drawing on experiences from top universities in Rostock, Germany, and Calabria, Italy.

The active participation and collaboration witnessed during this workshop signify a crucial step forward in the strategic development of the UAc, reinforcing its commitment to excellence and collaboration within the EXPER project’s framework.
