University of Rostock – Bridging Excellence among Peripheral Regions
The University of Rostock (UROS) invites researchers, SMEs, and stakeholders to its online seminar: “Bridging Excellence among Peripheral Regions: Adaptation to Climate Change & Restoring Our Oceans and Waters in the Blue and/or Circular Economy.” This event takes place on Wednesday, December 12th, 2024, at 11:30 CET (Central European Time).
Addressing Outermost Region Challenges:
The EXPER project, funded by Horizon Europe, aims to empower outermost regions by strengthening their research and innovation (R&I) capacity. The University of Rostock, collaborating with institutions like the University of the Azores and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, seeks to bridge the gap by sharing expertise and fostering collaborative research efforts.
Focus on EXPER Societal Challenges Working Groups (SCWGs):
- SCWG 1: Adapting to Climate Change (biodiversity conservation, environmental impacts, sustainable policy)
- SCWG 2: Restoring Our Oceans and Waters (climate change resilience, marine biodiversity, sustainable fisheries)
Learn from Renowned Researchers:
- Prof. Dr. Bettina Eichler-Löbermann: Crop Production and Nutrient Cycles
- Prof. Dr. Hendrik Schubert: Aquatic Ecology
- Prof. Dr. Michael Leyer (EXPER Project Leader): Digitization & Process Management
- Dr. Adrian A. Bischoff-Lang: Aquaculture and Sea Ranching
